Meet KDC Plywood: Plywood, Block Board, and Flush Doors You Can Trust

Building a home or an office is a big decision. The wood behind your cupboards, kitchen, wardrobes and doors matters as much as the paint or the handles. Poor plywood can bend, swell or get eaten by termites within a few years, while good plywood stays strong for decades.

That is why we started KDC Plywood. This is our first blog, so let us introduce ourselves. Below, you will see who we are, what we make, how we make it, and how to pick the right board for your project.

Who Is KDC Plywood?

KDC Plywood is a plywood manufacturer and supplier based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. We have more than 10 years of experience in the plywood business. Our products are made for homes, shops, offices and commercial spaces.

We focus on three things:
  • Honest quality: We tell you what each board is made for and where to use it.
  • Clear dealing: Our policies and prices are simple and transparent.
  • Customer care: We talk to you first, then suggest the product.
Our manufacturing unit in Gandhidham uses modern machines from India and abroad. We make boards in 6 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm, 18 mm and 19 mm thicknesses, in both MR and BWR grades. We also control the supply of core and face veneers in-house, so quality stays steady from batch to batch.

Our Products
We make four main products. Each one has a different job.

1. BWR Grade Plywood (IS:303)

BWR means Boiling Water Resistant. This plywood handles moisture and humidity much better than ordinary boards. It is a smart choice for kitchen cabinets, wardrobes, wall panels, furniture and false ceilings. If you live in a place with humid weather or monsoon rain, BWR is a safe, long-lasting pick.

2. Marine Plywood (IS:710)

Marine plywood is our most water-resistant board. It is built for places that stay wet, such as bathroom cabinets, wet-area panels and outdoor-facing furniture. Many people think “marine” means only for boats. In homes, it simply means the strongest protection against water.

3. BWR Block Board (IS:1659)

A block board has a core made of solid wood strips with veneer on both sides. It is strong, stable and flat, so it does not sag easily. It works very well for long shelves, tabletops, beds, wardrobe shutters and office desks. It is also lighter than many thick boards, which makes installation easier.

4. Flush Door (IS:2202)

Flush doors have a smooth, flat surface and a solid inner structure. They suit bedrooms, bathrooms, offices and entrances. You can finish them with laminate, veneer or paint to match your interior style.

How We Make KDC Plywood
A good board is made step by step. Here is our process in simple words:
  1. Wood selection: We use Gurjan wood veneers with a full 2.5 mm core, because dense wood gives a strong board.
  2. Chemical treatment: Each veneer is treated with preservatives before pressing. Our Glue Line Protection (GLP) treatment helps protect the board against termites.
  3. Chamber seasoning: We dry the veneers in four seasoning chambers. Proper drying helps stop warping and cracking later. Our technical team then lays the veneers carefully to build “zero-gap” boards.
  4. Phenol resin bonding: The layers are joined with liquid phenol formaldehyde resin and pressed under high heat and pressure. This is what gives the board its water resistance and strong grip.
Our products follow Indian Standards: IS:303 for plywood, IS:710 for marine plywood, IS:1659 for block boards and IS:2202 for flush doors. These standards give you a clear benchmark for what you are buying.

BWR stands for Boiling Water Resistant. It means the plywood can handle moisture and humidity much better than ordinary plywood.

Both resist water, but marine plywood gives the highest protection. Use marine plywood for wet areas like bathrooms, and BWR for kitchens and general furniture.

Yes. Block board is strong, flat and good for long shelves, tables, beds and wardrobe shutters.
